Aaron’s Place didn’t start as just another luxury hospitality business. It started as a promise. A promise to carry on the vision of a father Aaron never got to meet. Born shortly after his dad passed away, Aaron believed his life had meaning beyond coincidence. In his Igbo culture, his Igbo name ‘Obona’ speaks to reincarnation. And true to that name, Aaron was determined to finish what his father started.
The idea for Aaron’s Place first sparked in the UK in 2000, long before platforms like Airbnb became popular. Aaron had been helping people find accommodation. It wasn’t just a hustle. It was his way of offering comfort and care, two values that now define the guest experience at Aaron’s Place. That same heart and drive followed him to Nigeria years later.
In 2014, he launched Aaron’s Place with aim of combining luxury in the hospitality business. He began with service apartments, but it didn’t stop there. Today, it’s a full luxury hotel experience sitting on over 15 plots of land at 17 Ibuzo Avenue in Enugu. There’s a hotel with over 50 rooms, a signature restaurant, and a grill house known for Italian-style wood-fired pizza.
But the journey hasn’t been easy. From the beginning, the hotel owner faced heavy taxation and little government support. Growing the brand required real sacrifice. To ensure world-class quality, Aaron brought in a culinary team from the UK, paying salaries in pounds while managing Nigeria’s inflation.
Still, he pressed on. Aaron’s goal wasn’t just to run a business. It was to build a place where customers have full control over their experience. That’s the heartbeat of Aaron’s Place. At the restaurant, you’re not just served food. You decide how it’s made. From the texture to the taste, the chef follows your lead. It’s a rare level of customer service that says, “We see you.”
Currently, Aaron’s Place is operating at 60% capacity. But it’s not due to lack of space. It’s intentional. Aaron refuses to rush service or sacrifice the quality his guests expect. His team is working on improving speed, but the made-to-order promise stays. The goal is to reach 80% capacity by year-end.
Aaron’s values are simple but powerful: passion, patience, and consistency. Every team member is trained to think like an owner. Aaron sees his staff as his first customers. That mindset shows in how they treat others. It also explains why reinvest 85% of their profits into the business for upgrades and growth.
In 10 years, Aaron’s Place has grown from a vision to a thriving brand in the luxury hotels space. But it hasn’t lost its roots. Every December 5th, they hold a Mass to mark their founding and keep God at the center of everything. For Aaron, success is spiritual, not just financial.
Looking ahead, they focus on improving hotel marketing, expanding into malls, high streets, and offering outdoor event services. Their goal is to strengthen their online presence so more people can find and connect with them. But even with all this growth, one thing remains unchanged: customers decide what comfort looks like for them.
Aaron’s Place has survived where many businesses have folded. And it’s because they kept their promise, the one that started it all.
So if you’re searching for a place where your needs come first, where service is personal and not scripted, and where you shape your own experience from start to finish, Aaron’s Place is waiting.
