- “A story that proves that purpose can flow from the most unexpected place, even a leaking pipe…“
When Evans first heard about plumbing, he wasn’t exactly thrilled, and to be sincere, most Nigerians won’t be. In fact, if you told him five years ago he’d be running Paradise Plumbing, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing plumbing companies, he probably would’ve laughed and walked away. In his words, it felt like plumbing was one of those “back-up” jobs people only picked when nothing else worked out. But purpose had a funny way of finding Mr. Evans.
The plumbing journey started in 2017–2020, when Evans worked as an apprentice at IZU SAM Plumbing in Abuja. That foundational experience gave him a front-row seat to the realities of the trade.
It wasn’t until 2021, during a government-led upskilling program organized in Delta State, in partnership with a Singaporean organization, that he started. He was introduced to the tools of the trade and handed a wrench to go fix something.”
What started as a curiosity quickly turned into a calling. Evans, not being the conventional guy, didn’t just see broken pipes. He always looked through to see broken systems: unprofessional service, poor standards, and young people avoiding trades like they were contagious. So in 2023, mobilized with faith, vision, and maybe a little holy pressure, he launched Paradise Plumbing, which seemingly gives off a name that was inspired by his belief that even plumbing can be heavenly when done right.
And this isn’t your “uncle with a toolbox” type of plumbing. Evans brought something entirely new to the game: professionalism. His team wears uniforms. They carry ID cards and show up on time (yes, not African time kind of service). They even give customers video reports of every job, because when Paradise Plumbing fixes your pipes, they leave no mystery behind.
But the journey wasn’t all smooth flow. At first, people didn’t really trust a new name. So Evans did what most startups would do; offer great service at low prices and pray the referrals roll in. Spoiler alert: the referrals did roll in. One happy customer turned into five, then fifty. Before long, Paradise Plumbing had a full team, emergency services running 24/7 (because unfortunately, pipes do not sleep), and a reputation for solving the problems others left behind.
However, Evans isn’t content with just being good, he really wants to change the game. Now, he’s building a training school to teach 200 students a year, complete with hostels, tools, and maybe even a motivational speech or two. He dreams of global partnerships and one day expanding into Europe, because, let’s be honest, everyone needs good plumbing.
And it is not just about business. Paradise Plumbing is also about purpose. They’re helping communities access clean water, giving free training to students, and showing young Nigerians that skilled work isn’t a “last option”; it can be your first, best, and most rewarding move.
Evans likes to joke that Paradise Plumbing brings “heavenly service to earthly problems.” But underneath the humor is a serious mission. He aimed to turn leaks into learning, pipes into purpose, and a once-ignored trade into something worth celebrating.
So really, why settle for just a Plumber when you can call Paradise? It really doesn’t matter if it’s a midnight leak, a full-blown bathroom rescue, Paradise Plumbing has your back.
Evans, alongside his young and passionate team, isn’t fixing pipes; they’re among those rare brands changing stories with one honest job at a time.
